Consensus Paper

Consensus Paper

In December 2020, a group of more than eighty multidisciplinary sarcoma experts from leading medical institutions across Europe and the UK, but also including sarcoma specialists from North America, and Asia, came together under the auspices of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) and its ‘Consensus of Experts’ programme, to discuss EHE. The group discussed and finalised their consensus agreement on all key areas including patient/disease monitoring and the associated treatment recommendations for EHE. The experts represented all key disciplines involved in treating EHE patients including medical, surgical, and radiation oncology as well as pathology and radiology.

The resultant paper, entitled ‘Epithelioid hemangioendothelioma, an ultra-rare cancer: a consensus paper from the community of experts’  was published in early 2021.

In addition, and recognising that the ESMO paper is highly technical in all areas, the EHE Group coordinated with the experts, the production of a suitable version of the paper for the patient community. We hope that the patient version of the paper will provide the patient community with an understanding of EHE, and will assist in their ongoing discussions and decision-making with their medical teams.

The full ESMO paper and the patient version can be found in the Library section of this website.
